Over the past decade
the estimated number of gangs hits around 27,000 nationally (National Gang
Center). Statistics show in 1996 till 2012 the variation has gone up and down
over the years(National Gang Center). Throughout time when gangs have increased
in our community so has the violence due to drugs, vandalism, and turf wars.

PowerPoints
What
we did in class was a great way to get in front of our classmates and explain
how we feel about our topic and what we hope to find. I think a lot of people
did a great job on their topics. I liked how I could hear everyone and didn’t have
to ask them to repeat anything. Also, I liked how the majority of the people didn’t read right off the screen. It
showed that they knew a good bit on their topic and had a understanding. If I had
to see any negative aspect it would have to be making sure you don’t go over
your time because then you start to lose the audience by going to long or when
you go below you don’t let them digest the information you just presented
because it was too quick. Overall I think I did a good job presenting my topic
and keeping everyone engaged. If there was think I know I had to work on was
making sure my thesis was clear.
Gangs
Over
the past 30 years I have wondered why has gang violence increased over the past
30 years? While thinking this I came to up what I thought what was causing this
rise. Gangs have increased violence over the past 30 years. Turf wars, drug
trafficking, vandalism, and mass murders are just few of the examples that
are causing today’s society to spiral out of control with violence.
To
me this really caught my attention because with what has been happening in the world wondering why is it that all these mass killings are accruing? Also, I wonder
why are gangs in the center of all of this and really no one else? In a since
why are they the one’s to balm and no one else? What I’m hopping to get out of
all of this is to catch the attention of all young peers that what has happen
to are society and why violence as escalated over the years.
